Sacred Work in the Digital Age: Lessons from the LA Fires
Hey there, creative soul! đź‘‹ Erica here, dropping in with your Sunday night pep talk. This week's message is about the profound power of vision, even in our darkest moments.
When Vision Lights the Way
A Story of Resilience and Community
My heart is heavy this week as the LA fires continue to impact our community. Among those affected is one of our newest Tabernacle Residents, Marike, whose home was lost in the fires. As we witness the devastation in our Los Angeles community, I'm moved to share a moment that deeply touched me.
In the rush of evacuation, Marike made a choice that speaks volumes about what truly matters.
"As I was evacuating, I grabbed way less than I should have and didn't use a lot of strategic thinking. However I did grab the Tabernacle Welcome package from you that arrived yesterday đź’›,"
she wrote to me.
Was there an intuitive part of her that knew that once all was lost, the one thing she would rebuild was her business?
To everyone affected by the LA fires, our hearts are with you. The loss is immeasurable, and the road to rebuilding will take time. Know that you are in our community's thoughts and prayers.
Building Resilient Digital Teaching Houses
Lessons in Future-Proofing Your Sacred Work
Marike's words—"I really believe you are going to help me rebuild in a magical phoenix-like way"—remind us why digital teaching houses are so vital. They represent something that can't be destroyed by physical circumstances: our wisdom, expertise, and ability to serve others.
In today's unpredictable world, going digital isn't just an option—it's essential for survival and growth.
Here's why:
Digital teaching houses provide true resilience. When your work exists in digital form, it's protected from physical loss and can continue serving others no matter what circumstances arise. Your methodologies, practices, and teachings become a lasting legacy that transcends physical limitations.
They also create sustainable systems that work 24/7. Automated email sequences nurture your community while you handle life's emergencies. Digital customer journeys guide your people toward transformation even when you can't be physically present. These systems aren't just convenient—they're your business's safety net.
Most importantly, digital spaces foster borderless communities. Our Tabernacle community supports each other across time zones and continents, proving that virtual connection isn't a lesser version of in-person community—it's its own powerful entity capable of holding space in unique ways.
This is why we build digital teaching houses:
- They preserve our wisdom and teachings
- They allow us to serve from anywhere
- They create sustainable income streams
- They amplify our impact beyond physical limitations

Over 12 weeks, these creators will transform their spiritual expertise into profitable digital offerings while maintaining the sacred essence of their work.
What I'm Working On:
Supporting our community through challenging times by creating flexible frameworks for the Residents. For Marike, this means holding her spot in our May cohort while she rebuilds.
For current residents, we're diving deep into digital teaching house fundamentals—from sacred client archetypes to curriculum design to marketing automation—laying foundations that last.
What I'm Loving:
The incredible energy of our first week at Tabernacle! Our 24 Residents bring such diverse expertise, from Spanish-language yoga platforms to emotional eating healing systems.
Half are exploring self-study content, while our alumni and full-ride residents are already creating powerful connections and insights.
What I'm Celebrating:
The launch of Tabernacle 10.0 with our most diverse cohort yet! I'm especially moved by our full-ride Residents embarking on one-on-one mastery sessions to get design help and art direction for their brands.
Most meaningfully, I'm celebrating the resilience in our community—when one of us faces challenges, whether it's the LA fires or everyday hurdles, this community rises together.
Reflection Question for This Week:
If everything physical was stripped away tomorrow:
_
What vision would you carry forward?
_
What expertise, what wisdom, what dreams would remain?
âśż
Your vision is your most precious asset—whether you're starting fresh or rising from the ashes. In this digital age, we're not just adapting; we're evolving. We're creating sacred spaces that transcend physical boundaries while preserving the soul of our work. This is how we build lasting legacies that can weather any storm.
Until next Sunday, keep rising.
With strength and hope,
Erica
